Redmi 12 5G and Poco M6 Pro 5G: Two cheapest 5G smartphones in India

Two affordable smartphones were launched in the first week of August. The Redmi 12 5G landed in India on August 1 and the Poco M6 Pro 5G debuted on August 5. These two smartphones share almost the same specifications because the Poco M6 Pro 5G is a rebranded version of Redmi 12 5G. However, these two are currently the cheapest 5G smartphones in India at the ₹10,000 mark. 

The Redmi 12 5G and the Poco M6 Pro 5G don’t differ a lot. They differ in design, prices and Poco M6 Pro 5G comes in only two storage options, whereas Redmi 12 5G comes in three storage options. Let’s take a look at the differences.

In terms of design, the Redmi 12 5G comes with crystal glass design on the back. There are three camera rings on the back of both of the smartphones. However, one of these three camera rings consists of a flashlight. The Redmi 12 5G comes in Jade Black, Pastel Blue, Moonstone Silver. On the other hand, the Poco M6 pro 5G comes in Power Black, Forest Green. 

The Redmi 12 5G was launched in India at a starting price of ₹11,999 for the base variant, 4GB RAM 64GB storage, ₹13,499 for the 6GB RAM 128GB storage and ₹15,499 for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. However, the Poco M6 Pro 5G was launched in India at a starting price of ₹10,999 for the 4GB RAM 64GB storage and 6GB RAM 128GB storage. The top model of this smartphone costs you ₹12,999. Both the companies are offering a ₹1000 bank discount on their new budget smartphones as a launch discount.

So, if you think about, if you buy the Redmi 12 5G when these two options are given, that would happen only because you need more RAM for slightly smoother performance.
